The School Play
My daughter got a major part in the school play today. She rushed home and told my wife right away, who then called me at the office. She said that we needed to buy some western wear, because she didn’t really like the costumes at school. I told her that she should probably just wear them because all of the other kids were probably going to have to wear them too, and that she didn’t want to stick out and look like she was spoiled because she was wearing something store-bought. But my daughter didn’t really like that argument all that much, so later that night we of course ended up at the mall.
We saw lots of things that we liked, but her favorite was this pair of western boots that we got her. She wanted to wear them out of the store, but as we strolled out of there, she started to realize that her feet were hurting her a great deal. She said that for now that she would rather look at the boots instead of wear them, because no matter how much they hurt her feet she really liked the designs on them. On the way home though my wife assured her that she would be able to wear them, but that it would take a little bit of time to break them in.
